This forum is not set up for drawing diagrams.  I assume everything is horizontal in this problem.

 

F = net force

 

F = ma = (500 kg)(2.5 m/s²) = 1250 N

 

f = magnitude of friction force = μmg = (0.3)(500)(9.8) N = 1470 N
