Question

Because of your college classes and communication skills, you demonstrate excellent writing skills. Your boss always asks you to write his reports and important letters for him. When you overhear the district manager complimenting him on his effective and clear writing style, he responds as if he had written all those documents himself.

 

What can you do in this situation? Which ethical system or philosophy will influence your decision? Name and define that philosophy in your posting. Explain you solution and your reasoning.

This situation ask that you examine a response from the viewpoint of enlightened self-interest. If you believe in sustainable ethics, you will find a way to bring forward that the information being provided by your boss is your product. If you follow situational ethics, you will evaluate the potential for either a raise or recognition and based upon this evaluation you may or may not expose the situation.
