I see a pattern to the numbers that goes like this -

 

   from 2 to 9: +7

   from 9 to 5: -4

   from 5 to 13: +8

   from 13 to 10: -3

   from 10 to 19: +9

   from 19 to 17: -2

   from 17 to x; we need to find x

 

Looking at every other pair, I see: +7, + 8, +9; and -4, -3, -2

 

Our next pair, 17 to x, needs to be a "+" step. The next value in the sequence 7, 8, 9 is +10. So we have 17 to x is +10, or x=27

 

I'd say 27 is the next value. I can imagine there may be other ways to look at it, so there might be other answers that also work.
