hydrostatic equation (Δp/Δz = -ρg) to determine the rate of change of pressure with height
(Δp/Δz) within the column. Use 9.8 m s-1
for gravity (g).

You already have ρ and g.  Just plug in the values into Δp/Δz = -ρg, with correct units.

 

ρ = 1.4 kg/m³

g = 9.8 m/s²

 

Δp/Δz = -ρg = -(1.4 kg/m³)(9.8 m/s²) = -13.72 Pa/m
