3y = -6x - 3

 

y = -2x - 1

 

Then the slope is m = -2, the y-intercept is (0.b) = (0,-1)

The formula for the line is given in Standard Form (Ax+By=C).  Now, once and forever, convert that to slope-intercept form (y=mx+b) and remember that the slope, m, is (-A/B) and the y-intercept is the point (0,C/B).

 

For the line 6x + 3y= -3, the slope is (-6/3)=-2 and the y-intercept is (0,-3/3), or (0,-1).
