Finding trigonometric functions of this triangle

Triangle with angle theta, hypotenuse=√5 and opposite the angle length =1.

To to solve for the missing side, I did (√5)^2 —(1)^2 = 5.

When I find the trigonometric functions of sin , cos, tan, csc, cot the answer in the book is completely  different. I have no idea if this is an error.
