Each country club has a "fixed cost" and a "variable cost." The fixed cost is charged even if you immediately cancel membership (that is, 0 months). The variable cost is charged based on the number of months because --
(cost per month)*(number of months) gives variable cost; months cancel out
Let x = number of months
LF18: OSCC
$100 + ($30)x = $160 + ($10)x
($20)x = $60 [subtract $10x and subtract $100 from both sides]
x = 3 months [divide both sides by 20]
p.s., Show your smarts, this is called "the break even point"
