Slope of AB = y₂ - y₁/ x₂ - x_{1 )}

 

given points are A(-3,-1) & B(2,n)

 

slope of AB = n-(-1)/2-(-3) = 5

 

                   n+1/5 = 5

 

                   n+1 =25

                    n=24

so points are A(-3,-1) & B(2,24)

 

Distance between two ponts A & B = √(x₂ -x₁ )² + (y₂ -y₁)²

                                                  = √ {2-(-3)}² + {24-(-1)}²

 

                                                 = √5² +25² =√25+625 =√650=25.49 Ξ 25.5

the slope of 5 means that for each x=1, y=5 or as we move 1 unit in x axis we move 5 units on the y axis

 

total number of units moved on x axis = 2-(-3)=5
