Dear Future Student,

I am a graduate student and philosophy instructor at Rice University, where I earned a Master’s degree in Philosophy and am currently completing my PhD. I’ve had the opportunity to teach a wide range of students through both the School of Humanities and the Department of Engineering. In Fall 2025, I will be teaching Introduction to Philosophy. My academic focus lies in ethics—particularly medical and data ethics—and I’ve published research in journals such as The Journal of Medical Ethics. I offer tutoring in all areas of philosophy, including logic, critical thinking, ethics, and the history of philosophy.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve worked at Rice’s Center for Academic and Professional Communication, where I helped students strengthen their writing across disciplines. I frequently assisted those writing philosophy papers, but also supported science and social science students in developing clear arguments and expressing complex ideas. I’ve also worked with students preparing for medical school, offering mock interviews—including MMI-style practice—to help them sharpen ethical reasoning and communicate clearly under pressure. These experiences allow me to support students in both academic and pre-professional contexts.

My tutoring style is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your goals. I take time to understand where you’re starting from and structure sessions around building lasting skills. Whether you're reading dense texts, writing papers, preparing for exams, or gearing up for interviews, I aim to provide the tools and encouragement you need to succeed. I look forward to working with you!

Logic

I am a Philosophy PhD student with specialized expertise in formal logic, having completed five rigorous courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. These courses include predicate logic, modal logic, and non-classical logic, giving me a broad and deep understanding of formal systems. I have taught formal logic extensively, helping students grasp symbolic systems, proofs, and reasoning techniques. My tutoring emphasizes clear explanations and practical application, enabling students to confidently analyze arguments and solve complex logic problems.
