Hi, my name is Julian D. I am 28 years old and in my final year of graduate studies in history at Texas Southern University. I am also a certified educator currently in my second year. I graduated cum laude from the University of Houston in 2011 with a degree in History.
Prior to acquiring a teaching position, I worked in several long-term substitute positions in one of Houston’s school districts. In these positions I’ve either held a classroom of my own or co-taught with another teacher. I excel in one-on-one tutoring sessions, and am a very patient and understanding tutor. I believe that every learner can achieve success and have fun while doing so. I am capable of tutoring students in history and social studies at any level.
I look forward to helping students pursue and achieve their academic goals. Hi, my name is Julian D. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor's degree in history. Twenty-four of my credits were specifically in U.S. history. In my graduate studies at Texas Southern University I have, at present, completed fourteen hours in courses on U.S. history topics. I have also taught one semester of high school AP and Academic U.S. History.
As an undergraduate at the University of Houston I took eighteen hours in non-U.S. history courses. As a graduate student at Texas Southern University I have completed six.
