I am a J.D. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a graduate of Rice University, where I earned a B.A. in Health Sciences (magna cum laude, 3.97 GPA). Throughout my academic career, writing has been central to my success, from producing research presentations and scholarly work to developing the analytical and persuasive writing skills required in law school.
As a Rice graduate and Penn Law student, I understand what selective colleges and graduate programs look for in personal statements, supplemental essays, and academic writing. My own admissions experiences include acceptances to Rice University (merit scholarship), admission to the highly selective Rice-Baylor Medical Scholars BS/MD Program, admission to Harvard College, Columbia J.D. program, Georgetown J.D. program, and Penn Carey Law (merit scholarship).
My most significant teaching experience comes from serving as a Writing Consultant at Rice’s Center for Academic & Professional Communication. As a consultant, I conducted over 100 individual consultations with undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty members. I worked one-on-one with writers from a wide range of disciplines, helping them strengthen organization, argumentation, clarity, and presentation skills. I focused on teaching students how to develop their writing process, identify areas for improvement, and communicate their ideas effectively. I also helped students craft graduate school application essays and personal statements. Students I have worked with have earned admission to Columbia MBA program and various medical school and master's programs.
Having successfully navigated competitive admissions processes myself, I can provide practical guidance on how to present their achievements and experiences for college and graduate programs. I work with students individually and tailor each session to their specific needs, goals, and stage in the writing process, whether for university admissions or class assignments.
