Welcome!
I’m Meda—an experienced educator passionate about supporting students in their academic and personal growth. Whether you’re a parent seeking guidance for your child or an adult learner building new skills, I offer a warm, supportive, and structured environment where every student can thrive. My educational path began in Portland, Oregon, where I earned a B.S. in Sociology with a minor in Public Health Education from Portland State University. I later completed an M.A. in International Education from the University of Sunderland in England and hold a PGCE teaching certification. I spent six years teaching K–5 at an American international school abroad, working in various capacities—whole-class, small group, one-on-one—and serving as a curriculum leader. I’ve supported diverse learners, including those with IEPs, 504s, and English language learners (especially Arabic speakers). I'm familiar with Common Core, NGSS, Montessori, CEFR, TESOL, and Learn-Able methods, and have strong experience in virtual instruction using platforms like Raz-Kids, IXL, and ZEARN. While my expertise includes English Language Arts, I also bring years of experience teaching other core subjects such as Math, Science, Social Studies, and Social-Emotional Learning. I believe that learning can happen anywhere—and that a classroom isn’t defined by four walls, but by the supportive space we create together. I take a holistic, student-centered approach to tutoring, focused on building confidence, independence, and curiosity.
