Hello, I’m Susan, a Master of Arts candidate in History at Eastern Washington University. My graduate work explores world and U.S. history, historiography, and how stories from the past shape identity and collective memory. I’m passionate about helping students see history as an active, interpretive process—one built on questions, evidence, and human experience, not just memorization.
I have seven years of teaching and tutoring experience and am a licensed substitute teacher in Oregon, working with students from Pre-K through 12th grade. My background includes both classroom instruction and one-on-one tutoring, and I’m also TESOL-certified, with extensive experience teaching English as a Second Language to learners across Asia and the United States. This blend of history and language teaching helps students build stronger analytical, writing, and communication skills.
I aim to make learning clear, approachable, and engaging. My sessions are practical and flexible—focused on helping students understand material, write with purpose, and build lasting confidence. Whether you need support in history, writing, or English skills, I’ll meet you where you are and help you make steady, meaningful progress.
