It is so hard for a child to bring up failing grades and try to catch up with the rest of the class. Another reason, why I chose Nathan was because he was a male tutor. My son has had only female Spanish teachers! It helped my son realize that Spanish isn't just for females and males can also learn Spanish and use it efficiently. I can't thank Nathan enough how he has affected my son already! Nathan is worth every penny that we have spent on Spanish tutoring!
With her help I was able to score well on every kind of assessment and test – 5 exams, including a brutal final, multiple choice, fill in the blank, short-answer – as well as 3 – 250 word mini-papers in Spanish, and 3 – several-minute-long oral presentations in Spanish. In the last of these oral presentations, I spoke for over 6 minutes in Spanish (and got a 100%). None of this would be possible without Holly’s skill and experience guiding me along.

I told him outright that learning by immersion does NOT work for me (I tried it in Chile when I was first learning Spanish, and all it did for me was cause anxiety). Fernando and I speak constantly in Spanish, but his ability to explain in English the nuances of Spanish grammar is invaluable to me, and it works well with the way I learn. I am entirely fascinated with grammar, and being able to have a conversation and ask questions about it has noticeably propelled my Spanish skills.
