Hello! I am a student doctor with a bachelors degree in human biology, having scored above the 95th percentile on the MCAT and USMLE examinations. I have a true passion for tutoring, mentoring, and crafting highly personalized study plans for the students I tutor. I service high school, undergraduate, and post-graduate students on standardized test preparation in biology, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, and more! Additionally I tutor medical students on shelf examinations. I serve on a prestigious medical school academic success committee that develops curriculum and teaching modalities that have been successfully implemented for hundreds of students. I am highly involved in the pedagogical structuring of university level science courses, and use this insight to provide students with highly effective, and proven learning techniques, no matter the students learning style. My strengths as a tutor include fine tuning the study plan according to the students strengths and weaknesses, dedicating ample time to preparing for each session outside of our allotted time, and being personable. In undergrad, and medical school I have tutored dozens of students, and have dedicated nearly 200 hours to tutoring in the last 6 years. I have taught lessons to lecture halls full of 100+ students, and also one-on-one virtual calls, and in person sessions.
A recent student testimonial states: "Jake describes the content in a way my teachers don't. He doesn't focus on teaching me material to memorize... he really focuses on teaching me in ways that work for ME. I saw an immediate rise in my test scores, and feel way more confident on test day."
Additionally, I have served on a medical school admissions committee, and have mentored and advised students who are interested in pursuing careers in healthcare, especially undergraduate students who want to become a competitive applicant.
I would love to help you achieve as a student, and advance your academic pursuits, test grades, and confidence in the class room!
