Me as a Teacher
I welcome everyone to join me in learning the English, French, Russian, and Romanian languages. Learning languages can be a difficult, yet rewarding journey, and I hold empathy and patience as key attributes to a successful teacher. My passion for learning languages and helping others communicate with people from all walks of life has inspired me to become a tutor on Wyzant's platform, and I hope it one day inspires you to teach others as well. My Lessons & Teaching Style
Lessons will begin at the level of the student, ranging from beginner to fluent. I have verb conjugation, declension, and vocabulary word charts prepared for all levels and also plan on integrating visual/audio content to provide a holistic approach to learning foreign languages. For fun, it will be a great idea to read articles and current news, so that students can apply lessons to real world content and better converse with native speakers. There will be summary recap and sometimes a quiz at the end of each lesson.

As a bilingual English/Romanian speaker I understand the journey of balancing between two languages and cultures. It can be tricky at times, but well worth the effort it takes to maintain proficiency in your native languages.

I come from a multicultural background, where Romanian and Russian were spoken all around me from a young age. Having family spread throughout Europe means I get daily practice with Romanian and Russian, and I am happy to share these two languages with you. I also studied French for four years in high school, received a 4 on the AP French exam, passed out of the French language requirement at my home university, and interned abroad in Marseille, France after my junior year of college where I spoke in French every day. I also studied abroad in Rome, Italy and St. Petersburg, Russia.

I’m currently a foreign language tutor and am learning new words every day, not to mention constantly discovering something new about languages.

I’m currently teaching French as a freelance tutor at the beginning and intermediate levels. I studied French all four years of high school, passing the AP Exam with a four and passing out of the University of Michigan’s language requirement. I also interned abroad in Marseille, France after my junior year of college.

I started piano lessons at the age of nine and quickly progressed to the top of my class. I took lessons for 10 years, playing in recitals, concerts, and competitions throughout my musical career. Piano is a wonderful instrument to play, and I hope I can share the beauty with others who wish to learn.

I currently teach the Romanian language as a community tutor to students of all levels. As a bilingual speaker of English and Romanian, I can pronounce everything in both languages as a native speaker. I have textbooks and materials with which we can work, and of course welcome any new content. I meet the student at whatever stage in the learning process they’re at to ensure efficiency and a tailored learning experience.

I studied the Russian language for 2.5 years at the University of Michigan, where I received a FLAS award to study in St. Petersburg, Russia for two months. Here I not only took Russian language/culture classes but applied my knowledge and abilities with the locals and in my home stay. My parents are from the former USSR and we have family living in two former Soviet republics, so I can also speak about current every day life.
