I am passionate about photography and the digital arts. I just completed 8 years of teaching Art Photography, AP Photography and Graphic Design (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), as well as being the Director of Studio and Digital Arts, at a K-12 school.
Prior to teaching classes, I worked professionally in a Wedding and Portrait Photography studio as their Digital Photo Retoucher, plus have experience as a Graphic Designer and an Art Director.
I have 15+ years of experience in Photoshop, commercially and as a teacher. I love teaching students (having taught hundreds), encouraging them as they discover and develop their gifts.

In just the first lesson with Pamela I gained more control of my camera and was able to accomplish what I wanted by knowing how to use the settings. Wow! It was great.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have experience working commercially as a graphic designer (using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), as well as teaching it to high school students.
Commercially I have worked for corporations as well as free-lance for the last twenty years, building up to the position as Art Director.
Educationally, I wrote the curriculum (UC approved) and taught graphic design to high school students for seven years. I also taught InDesign to yearbook students (and wrote the UC approved curriculum) for six years, and we became a nationally recognized and awarded yearbook.
I have a traditional painting education with a BFA in Painting, including having studied for a semester in Italy. My paintings have been displayed in galleries in Baltimore, New Orleans, Dallas and Florence, Italy, and I had a one-woman show in Delaware. Having been passionate about painting most of my life (starting at age twelve with oils), I am currently combining my passions for both painting and photography, using traditional and digital artistic methods to produce artwork. I have experience with acrylic, oil and watercolor painting.
In addition to working commercially in a photography studio and having my own photography business, I have eight years of teaching experience in photography at a private school. I wrote the curriculum, which was UC approved, and built the program for Digital Photography, Art Photography and AP Photography classes. My position was the Director of Studio & Digital Arts, in addition to Photography and Graphic Design teacher.
