My favorite subjects to help students with are Chemistry (particularly Analytical and General Chemistry) and Spanish. I am passionate about fostering a growth mindset where I encourage students to stretch their problem-solving abilities in a learning environment free from the fear of failure. I enjoy working with students of diverse learning styles and always strive to provide or seek out any support they may need to achieve their academic goals.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish and Environmental Science. During this time, I tutored high school and middle school students in Math, Spanish, and Chemistry which was a great opportunity to connect with students on different academic topics. Over the next years, the highlight of my Masters of Science degree in Chemistry was working with undergraduate students as a graduate teaching assistant in the following classes: General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Instrumental Analysis. Each week in General Chemistry, I did my best to make the intro to our long lab sessions lively, fun, and memorable to assist in ensuring safety and accuracy during the lab. I had the opportunity to offer office hours which was a great chance to check in with students who were stuck on homework questions and get to know many students' learning styles over the semester.

Since then, I have tutored in-person and online for students in high school and college Chemistry, Organic Chemistry I/II, Algebra, and Spanish. My top ways to reach students is to make lessons fun and engaging while also staying focused and centered on the goals of the day. I enjoy giving relevant real world examples to apply context that is interesting for students to internalize and recall later. I highly look forward to working with you or your student’s needs and hearing about academic goals, learning styles, and the things that are most supportive while learning new and/or challenging topics.
