About

I am a graduate student pursuing a dual Masters in Philosophy and Theology at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, CA. I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Davis College in Binghamton, NY, with my Bachelor of Religious Education minoring in Counseling. I was nominated to the Theological Honor Society of four year colleges, Delta Epsilon Phi, along with receiving various other academic awards. While at this college, I served as a tutor for all four of my semesters in subjects ranging from biblical studies to mathematics, philosophy to writing. Previously, I began my undergraduate career at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, OH. During my first two years of college in Cleveland, I home schooled my three youngest siblings, a 12 year old boy, and 6 and 8 year old girls in all subjects. I commonly served as a study aide for the classes I was taking. I have spent several summers teaching children ages 5-18, and prefer one-on-one style of giving information and asking questions. I desire to see individuals take ownership of their education and delight in finding interest in it. I see the development of questions in the mind as a sign of growth, which propels a desire to learn. I have devoted a lot of my own time to learning through questions. In my tutoring, I seek to identify weakness and bring child to an understanding of that weakness and how to overcome it. |
