My academic training is in Chemistry. I have a Bachelors in Chemistry and fulfilled the requirements for Ph.D in Organic Chemistry at Purdue University.
I was a teaching assistant at Purdue. I have taught General Chemistry, Organic chemistry I, Organic Chemistry II, and Organic Chemistry labs.
For the past 15 years I have been working as an organic chemist in the Biotech industry where I apply my chemistry knowledge on a daily basis.
In addition to chemistry and organic chemistry I can teach Math: Algebra I, Algebra II.
My approach to teaching is to start from what the student already knows and build up from there. A lot of times the reason that students have difficulties with math and science is they miss a link between what they already know and what they are learning now. The role of a tutor is to provide that link. I am patient and able to explain difficult concepts in easily understood terms.
