Hello prospective students (and parents, spouses, or loved ones),
My goal as a tutor is not just to teach you just enough to let you pass that next exam. I work with my students so that they not only know the material that we are covering, but also so that they understand the meaning of the material, the background behind it, and how to apply it in the real world. This allows for my students to handle those really difficult problems where they have to not just recite what was learned, but use it in a new way. The greatest thing I hear from my students after tutoring them, is when then tell me that they now understand the material and that they will not need any more help, since that means that I have truly done my job and they are ready to move forward on their own.
As a WyzAnt tutor, I have helped both high school and college students from schools in the Los Angeles area. Students I have worked with have come from USC, UCLA, LMU, Santa Monica City College, El Camino College, CSU Northridge, CSU Los Angeles, University of Phoenix, and others. I have helped students to maintain and A, to improve after getting a low score on a midterm, or just prepare before starting a class in the coming term. Regardless, I work with that student to be the best that they can be, which is usually much better than they even thought they could do on their own. With over 1,250 hours of tutoring with WyzAnt, I am proud of all that I have been able to give to my students and their feedback and responses are available for you to read.
My qualifications include over 1,250 hours of tutoring with WyzAnt students, a tutor for the USC Student Athletic Academic Services center, and I was previously a teaching assistant for both undergraduate and graduate students in the Biomedical Engineering and the Kinesiology departments at USC. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY), a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA), and a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management, UCLA (Los Angeles, CA).
While I live in the South Bay area (Carson, CA), I am willing to travel a reasonable distance to help my students. Typically, I meet students at either their home or at a public location that is suitable for studying. I have also conducted tutoring sessions online and over the phone using either the WyzAnt online tutoring tools, or other web based applications.
Please review my student feedback and subject list and feel free to contact me to schedule a tutoring session if you need any assistance in the subjects that I tutor. Hello prospective students (and parents, spouses, or loved ones),

I could not ask for anything more. This gentleman has been an enormous help. Your organization has a real asset with his employ.
Very knowledgeable - explained principles in simple ways to gain student understanding. Was on time (even early) and well mannered. He's the kind of person I could become casual friends with.
Chris is as good a tutor as you'll get. He always shows up on time, explains the core concepts lucidly, and never pressures you when it comes to future appointments or time spent. I absolutely recommend working with him.
Christopher proved to be very helpful regarding my finance course. He was efficient and better than that, actually knew what he was talking about. A+ tutor, would definitely recommend.
I have been meaning to write this review for a long time; but now that I have a moment, I just want to thank Chris for his incredible help. It is unlikely you'll be able to stump him on any aspect of finance; he has incredible command of the material. But more importantly, he is a great guy and cares about his students.
He is a very good tutor, he gives very detailed explanations and helps a lot on my economics project, very nice person. I really recommend!
Christopher was punctual, informative, and relaxed. He provided the information in a way that could be understood and easily implemented. Wide range of knowledge.
Christopher arrived on time. Started right away and didn't waste any time. Knows the subject very well. Explanations were easy to understand.
Chris is extremely patient and able to explain difficult concepts in a way that makes sense to me He can bring in historical, philosophical, and contemporary examples so I grasp the material more deeply. His assistance has certainly made my holidays brighter.
Provides well-balanced educational experience and a real-world perspective to learning.
Chris listens well and knows how to troubleshoot a problem. I have never regretted the time I have invested in his tutorials.
I have actually seen him get excited about certain math problems.
Christopher’s thorough knowledge of statistics enabled me to succeed in my class. Not only is he patient, but his practical approach to explaining statistical problems helped me to grasp the basic concepts in a format that is simple to understand. Christopher is also very professional and efficient, and I would recommend him to any student who needs assistance with math.
By far one the best tutors I have had. Christopher makes mathematical concepts easy to understand using perfect examples to accommodate a student's learning needs. His knowledge in math is very great and as a result he gets to work right from the start allowing me to get my moneys worth. I should say that it was my first time working with a professional like Chris and boy was I satisfied. Chris is very outgoing and is a pleasant individual. I would definately work with Chris again and would recommend him to anyone struggling with math. Chris you are the man! A+
I am positively impressed w/ the service and quality of tutoring. Chris is very practical, down-to-earth w/ his approach and goes above and beyond in helping me w/ the subject material.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
