asked 03/19/25Help fitting a violin shoulder rest (in person)?
I'm looking for someone to help me fit a Bon Musica or Wolf Forte shoulder rest (I have both). I have some neck issues and haven't ever been shown how a violin shoulder rest should fit. I'm in northwest Arkansas.

Hi Grant, you should adjust the shoulder rest so that it will sit on top of your shoulder with the side of your jaw resting on the chin rest, and your spine should be as straight as possible. Ideally the body of the violin will be sitting horizontally so that you could rest something like an eraser on top. Hope this helps!
