Wanna learn something and have fun doing it!? Let’s go!!!!!!!!!
Let's dive in! The two most crucial things to focus on in terms of singing, whether you're a vet or a beginner, is breath control, and mentality.
Breath control is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF SINGING!!! Understanding not only WHEN to take breaths during songs, but HOW!!! Using your diaphragm and your stomach to inhale as much air as possible, while still maintaining control of your lungs and diaphragm so they do not spasm and cause a crack or sharpness! This takes practice and dedication, but it can be easily learned from a teacher or a video online!
Mentality is MUCH TOUGHER to get over. This may not be the most important thing to sing in general, but to become a great vocalist, you need a strong mental. Every single artist on planet earth has, at one point or another had insecurity about their voice. This is normal and OK! We are the only ones who have to hear our voice every single day so of course we would also be the most critical of our own voice! WE MUST LEARN TO BE KIND TO OURSELVES! There is always room to improve your voice, but do not put yourself down or compare yourself to other vocalists. You are your own artists and thus have your own voice.
Find a coach who will help you create YOUR SOUND!!! You are one in billions of people. That means you will have your own journey with your voice!!!
