Math and science made easy - learn from a retired engineer

Assuming the bead travel is random, the probability matches the percentage of the area of the square to the whole. The area of the square is (4)(4) = 16 square units. The area of the whole is (6)(13) = 78 square units so the probability the bead will land in the square is 16/78 = 8/39

If you'd like a percentage answer then 8/39 = 0.2051282051. . . so it is approximately 20.5%
