on the way to her execution, she commented "Maybe the peasants had a point"
the movie Los Miserables has a similar theme as a woman does 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread. A general food shortage can turn people violent.
The American 1776 revolution may have triggered the French Revolution. Thomas Jefferson supported France's revolution, viewing it as similar to America's overthrow of a monarchy. France's though was more into terrorism, with even Marque de Sade involved, writing very sadistic novels, including Juliette who contemplates poisoning half of France.
