How can I remove color from skin prior to rinsing?

Always remember color removes color.

Protect your hands with gloves at end of timing of the service. Prior to rinsing the color out of the hair you can remove color with the color that client has on their head. No need to save color in a bowl. Do NOT rinse the hair the water will make it difficult to remove the stain.

Take client to bowl

Take finger and rub the hair that has the color applied to it

Take the finger with the excess color on it and rub in a circular motion on the surface of the skin where the color has stained.

EXAMPLE:

Perimeter of hairline

Ears

Nape

Neck

Face

Hands

Allow the color that has been manipulated to sit about 5 minutes to allow oxidation to take place

NOTE: This is when the removal process takes place

Then take a clean towel and wipe away the color of the skin only

This will let you know PRIOR to rinsing if you have to do SAME STEPS a 2nd time

Upon removal rinse the hair in slightly cool water until water is clear .

This will calm the scalp and areas that has been in contact with the color.

if the skin is still stained use a color remover apply gently in circular motion rub the product OR white vinegar of your choice on the skin

This should do the final trick

ALWAYS change your towel and if needed your cape after first rinse. This will give you the ability to remain in control without having the chemical on the client after rinsing or during shampoo and treatment services. Items with product on them may cause DAMAGE or cause the stylist to repeat unnecessary color removal steps

Proceed to shampoo with a color shampoo this will ensure the color application has been removed, the color service will not be stripped but actually locked into the hair, protect the bonds, as well as allowing the hair to return to the proper pH balance.

UNFORTUNATELY

this step has been often forgotten or abused due to many color services being shampooed with products that are not used after color.

GET TO KNOW YOUR SHAMPOOS

Each shampoo has is special job to do non are alike

Final step perform a color conditioner treatment

doing JUST a leave in conditioner will not give the hair the proper treatment and nourishment needed after a color service.

Enjoy your color session be CONFIDANT that the color has been removed completely and properly!
