Do the following:
Lisa is x
Henry x-8
DeAndre 2(x-8)--> 2x-16
First, put the equation by adding or subtracting together which is:
x+x-8+2x-16=76 ---> 4x-24=76
Second, you need to simplify the equation:
We move the -24 to the other side of the equal sign. You need to switch the sign from negative to positive. After that you solve for x. Now you need to divide 100 by four to solve for x. When it come to multiplication, you will not need to change the sign.
4x=100 ----> x=25
Third, Since we know that x=25, we know that:
Lisa has 25
Fourth, you can solve for Henry and Deandre too!
Henry:
25-8= 17
Deandre:
2(25-8) or 2 X 17= 34
Final for answer.
Lisa has $25, Henry has $17, and Deandre has $34.
Hopes this helped!
