The expression (m-5)2-9 can be factored. Since you can take the square root of each term (m-5) and 3, this is a Difference of Squares factorization. In case you forgot this trick, when you have A2-B2, it can be factored (A-B)(A+B).
OK, so you get ((m-5)-3)(m-5)+3))
Simplify each factor gives you (x-8)(x-2)
