Question about Sentence Structure and Money Signs

When signing sentences relating to money, how do I sign them? For example the Sentence "Soup costs $3.50." Do I sign that as Soup/Cost/Dollar/3/Cent/50 or do I sign that as Soup/Costs/350? My Professor doesn't explain the little things like sentence structure very well. He simply just gives us new signs and YouTube videos of signs every week and it's hard to get the hang of it. I've been using Life Print to get a better idea but my college class moves faster than Life Print does.
