A Sabra (Hebrew: צַבָּר, tzabar) is any Jew born in Israel. The term came into widespread use in the 1930s to refer to a Jew who had been born in the land of Israel (inclusive of the British Mandate of Palestine and Ottoman Palestine. Therefore, if someone said, I felt like a sabra returning to my homeland, even though they were not a native of Israel or Jewish for that matter, this word might convey the feeling you're searching for.
I hope this is of assistance in your search for expression.
