Sign Language Tutor
This is a very situational dependent scenario. If someone asked me "can you help me with my homework later" an english response may be "yeah I got you". In ASL I would say sure. If someone said "hey thanks for the ride." When you picked them up from a bar because they drank too much to drive home "any time" or "I got you" would be an English response. In ASL I would sign "yes, always" or "sure". If someone asked you "hey do you mind helping me cut my dogs nails because she hates it" once again "I got you" is an English response "I don't mind" or "sure". So in general sure is a safe bet. However, if you are talking to someone who is more English in their signing, one friend comes to mind, I would sign I got you. The reason being she would understand the meaning. Most of my Deaf friends I would not say I got you.
