Your question is extremely vague so I'm not sure if I understand it, however I will create an example for you and maybe this will help answer your question.
For example, "5 divided by the square root of x".
Given:
5 / (sqrt x)
Rationalize by multiplying top and bottom by (sqrt x)
(5*(sqrt x)) / ((sqrt x)*(sqrt x))
Simplify. The (sqrt x)^2 = the square root of x squared = x.
(5*(sqrt x)) / x
So, 5 / (sqrt x) = (5*(sqrt x)) / x = 5 times the square root of x, divided by (a.k.a. "all over") x
