Does lupus rash itch?

I think I have lupus.

I have a really bad rash that I got about 4 years ago. It is on my legs, around the ankles mostly, but goes up to about my knees. I also have it on my arms and when it gets really bad it goes onto my face and scalp. 

I was just wondering if the rash itches at all, because at times it itches.

Usually, lupus rash does not itch. Certain dermatitis do cause itching. Those would be allergic reactions, insect bites, fungal infections as a few examples.
