Fx makeup or cosmetology school?

I wanna be able to be a very diverse makeup artist for movies and tv shows. How do I go about this? I looked at both types of schools but none that do both. So should I go to one and then the other or....?

In most states such as Texas where I have my license FX still counts as makeup, therefore, a Cosmetology education and License are required. If this is true for your state you could take online courses for FX makeup which do exist and are taught by people in the industry you just have to look around I enjoyed the courses provided on udemy.com they do charge to take the courses but I typed in SFX Makeup and the first example was for a Level one class priced at $13.99 I am in no way soliciting this site nor do I get paid by them but I have taken classes from them and they helped me. Your second choice is to spend significantly more to go to a school such as Full Sail which is very pricey the benefit is you are provided kits that eliminate the need for guesswork or harmful fake products. Also factor in having to move and relocate to attend school as well these things add up quickly but are not impossible with intensive planning.
