Superior rating on SLPI (ASL) and M.Ed. in Clinical Counseling
The "without her knowing" part may be a tall order to fill. With ASL--even more than with spoken languages--the best way to learn is truly through face-to-face interaction. If you're able at all, go this route via classes with an instructor who is native-level and who uses ASL (not signed English or English mouthing). If that doesn't seem to be a possibility at the moment, Dr. Bill Vicars on YouTube can get you started with some basic vocabulary and other interesting bits of language and Deaf culture. I would only advise using this as a stop-gap until you're able to meet face-to-face!
