Was this phrase in Genesis and if so, what does it mean?

Hello! I just finished my 3 semester of Biblical Hebrew and for some reason I remember the phrase ״יש אור בחושך״ in genesis somewhere. Is this phrase in genesis or am I imagining things? Also I’m pretty sure it means “there is/was light in the darkness” Thank you!

That exact phrase isn't used in the creation account. Something similar that is in Genesis 1:4 is:

ויבדל אלקים בין האור ובין החושך

This phrase means "God separated the light from the darkness" or "God separated between the light and the darkness"

The phrase you said would translate as "there is light in the darkness".
