Since ASL is a visual/spatial language, I would recommend to get the full import of the translation, you ask for a lesson so the tutor can show you not only the signs but the placement and NMM's that should accompany those sentences. Writing the language is possible but a gloss is difficult to understand unless you understand all the notations.

ASL is not English grammar. But to remember how to use ASL grammar. Follow the TOSVQ (Time, Object, Subject, Verb, Question). Object is always the first before the action. Also not only the sign language, you must include Facial Expression (NMM - Non-Manual Marker) which helps in grammar understandable.
For example:
YOU NAME, "what" (lower brows, tilted head, hold till response)
STUDENT, ME NOT (negation - headshake "no"); TEACHER, ME (negation - headshake "yes")
ASL, YOU LEARN, FINISH, WHERE (lower brows, tilted head, hold till response)
TOMORROW, DEAF EVENT, ME GO-TO, WILL
