Yes, it is like what you refer to as "reactant-product" reactions. It isn't a "chain reaction", but will terminate once the "reaction" is complete. Curdling is essentially a physics-chemical process, and because the chemical nature changes, it is considered irreversible.

Thanks for your answer. could you give an example of a reaction where i can see the reactants change into the products? does the H+ atom combine with the protein? so that there isn't a free H+ anymore?11/25/18
