This one looks really intimidating, but it's not that bad once you break it down. The perimeter of any shape is the length of all sides added together, and a rectangle has two sets of sides that are the same length. So we know the total of all sides is 34 inches, and that one side is 7 inches. By default we know that a rectangle must have another side of 7 inches long, which means that 14 inches are accounted for. So from there it's a simple 34-14= 20. 20 inches must account for the remaining two sides. Since we know that those sides must be the same length we then divide our 20 by 2 and get that the width is 10 inches long! Happy studying!
