Length of a pasture

a pasture is twice as long as it is wide. The area is 115200ft^2. How wide is the pasture

Michael P.

P = W x L = area of pasture
 where:  W = width, ft   L = length, ft

L  = 2W

P = 115,200 ft^2 = W x 2xW  = 2W^2

therefore,  W = sqrt[( 115,200/2 ft^2)]  =  240 ft
