A certain investment portfolio consist  only Goggle and Nintendo stock .At the closed of a Market on particular day Goggle stock was worth $540 per shared and the Nintendo stock was $30 per share and the portfolio was worth $20,610 if the number of shared Google was 16 more than the number of shared of Nintendo stock ,How many share of each was in the Portfolio

g = number of Google shares at $540 each

n = number of Nintendo shares at $30 each

 

($540)g + ($30)n = $20,610

g - n = 16

 

Solve for g and n.  Try substitution.

 

540g + 30(g - 16) = 20,610

570g = 21,090

g = 37

n = g - 16 = 37 - 16 = 21
