 A farmer has a rectangle or garden plot surrounded by 220 foot fence if it's area is 1425 ft.² what is the length and width of the garden

Your it's should be its, which is the possesive form; it's ONLY means "it is."

 

Let x be width and then 110-x be the length such that  the perimeter equals 220.

 

Then x(110-x) = 1425; solve this quadratic equation for x, the width, and thus also derive length.
