How many pages does the bookworm eat through?

The 10 volumes of the Harry Potter series are sitting on the bookshelf, in order, with volume #1 on the left and volume #10on the right.  A bookworm eats through the front cover of volume #1 and eats all the way through to the back cover of volume #10 Each Harry Potter book in the series is exactly 1000 pages.  Not counting the outer covers of each book
