whats point slope form?

Write an equation in point-slope form of the line that passes through the given point and has the given slope.

m = –3

point = (3, –1)

y = mx + b is point-slope form, and I have seen teachers ask students to leave it in the point-slope form for the actual answer.  I don't know why they want to do things like that, but I have seen that happen with multiple students.
 
Since you go through the point-slope form to get to the slope-intercept form, it should never be a problem as far as I'm concerned.

I would provide both and label them, just to be safe.
