Point Slope form and slope Intercept

Question

I'm completely lost on the two questions below. I know how to plot points and how to find points but I have trouble with these questions. Can someone please show me how to do these. 

 

Find both the point-slope form and the slope-intercept form of the line with the given slope which passes through the given point.

 

a. m = 2/5, p = (-5, 10)

 

b. m - 0, P - (-50, 100)

The point slope form is y-y₁ = m(x-x₁)

The slope intercept form is y = mx + b

 

a)   m = 2/5, p = (-5,10)

 

point slope:  y-10 = (2/5)(x+5)

 

slope intercept, solve for y:

y-10 = (2/5)x + 2

y = (2/5)x + 12

 

b)  m = 0, p = (-50,100)

 

    With a slope of zero, this is a horizontal line....  y=100
