Lisa has a 12% discount coupon for a clothing store. She sees a new purse that she wants to buy. After the 12% discount was applied, Lisa paid $52.80 for the purse.  What was the original price of the purse?
-The discount implies that retail price was reduced. The coupon took away 12% of the retail price, so Lisa only has to pay 88% of the retail price.

-This problem can be understood as, “88% of the retail value is $52.80.”

-Write an equation that represents this scenario. Remember to convert percent to a decimal.
