I started learning Japanese at age 15, so I understand the challenges that adults face when trying to wrap their English-speaking brains around crazy Japanese grammar! I explain grammar clearly, so my students can quickly comprehend the patterns and use them in real-life communication. I have prepared PowerPoint slides over all of the grammar patterns in Volumes I and II of the Genki textbook series. When I work with students on Wyzant, I design a customized study plan utilizing the materials I've created for my college courses.

I'm a native speaker of English and taught English in Japan as my first job after college. That experience inspired me to continue my career as a language teacher. I have a MA in Teaching and a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I am currently teaching ESL at a local community college.

Very helpful!

I hired Peggy to help my son with his first college-level Japanese 101 final. My son found her very helpful, especially since she provided extra ways to help study outside of the tutoring session.

Knows how to teach Japanese to Americans

Peggy is a great Japanese teacher to our son. She is an American who has learned fluent Japanese (she teaches Japanese at a local community college), so she understands the difficulties that students face trying to learn the language and explains these concepts clearly. We are lucky to have her to help our son improve his understanding and ability to speak Japanese in his high school class.

Great First session

Feeling energized and optimistic after first meeting with Peggy! Japanese is fun to learn but even better with a knowledgeable, kind and patient teacher. Looking forward to next session.

Knowledgeable and patient

Peggy is teaching me everything my professor expects us to know but has never taught us. Basically Peggy is my professor and she is amazing!! I am learning Japanese because of Peggy.
