Bio

I have had many different jobs, classes, and interests throughout the years. The part of teaching and helping others is immensely gratifying to me. As someone who had issues learning earlier in life I am patient with those that have a hard time learning subjects.

Work with Elementary School students as a substitute teacher, summer teacher, and tutor.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and some coding.

I’m a working actor with experience across stage, short film, voiceover, and most recently, co-writing, acting in, and producing a comedy pilot. I’ve trained in improvisation and voiceover with Improv-LA and performed in roles spanning both comedic and dramatic work. My on-camera credits include Campbell’s Bridge and Complex Bottles, and I bring sharp instincts for character work, pacing, and rehearsal direction. I can help students improve their delivery, build confidence, and develop a professional approach to performance.

I have passed master's level courses in statistics, but even then I need to brush up on the basics. Learning PEMDAS/order of operations is something I am highly motivated in teaching. Knowing the steps to take when working with math will lead you to the answers of any problem.

Reading

I have worked with small groups in reading at many different DRA levels. Finding the right reading level and working through passages with students seems to be the best way to learn. Learning by doing and asking questions to see if the student understands or retains information on the text is my favorite way to work on this skill with students.

I have a Bachelors in Sociology. During the pursuit of my degree I took courses in Psychology, Social Psychology, and Sociology. I have a background in varied social sciences and continue to learn new topics outside of school.
Web Design

I have built standard websites with html/css, along with using some javascript and css bootstrap. I also finished cs50x, cs50p, and am working on my final project for cs50web in Django by building a portfolio website. I have also used blog sites and squarspace/godaddy, and primarily use the VSCODE IDE.
Writing

Wrote many papers in English courses and in courses with a focus on science fiction. Also, read and wrote about themes in early American Literature in comparison to movies and other media. Read many scholarly journals as part of my major and worked on a extensive and long APA formatted capstone project with a presentation.
