My name is Jennah and I’m ready to help! I started tutoring when I was 15 years old. I have always gotten so much joy from helping students find that lightbulb moment in school.
Some quick background: I live in NYC now, but I went to grad school at Stanford, studying Journalism. I did my undergrad at MIT, studying Computer Science and Economics with a minor in Public Policy. I have 5+ years of experience in mentoring high school students, helped seniors applying to college, and I have also taught university coding bootcamps in both Rwanda and South Africa.
I will respond to texts 24/7 and am available every day after school to jump on a zoom call to work through homework problems or looming college stressors.
I took so many practice tests in high school I can practically recite the problems in my sleep. I'm ready to help your student do the same!
I'm a journalist! I have to know the rules of grammar inside and out. :)
I've had to go through application cycles for both undergrad and grad school, and have helped edited essays for underprivileged students in the Boston Area. I've also dealt with a lot of scenarios over the years (a student's goal doesn't align with their parents, what to do when you get deferred, etc.) and can help offer some tips and tricks I've learned!
I learned to code in the best computer science department in the country. But having taught python before to students in Rwanda and South Africa, I know how to explain complex topics at a more granular level so that concepts become more digestible. I know coding is about muscle memory, so I'm ready to work through problems and drills with students until they 100% understand it.
