Hi there! I'm a recently graduated master's student in philosophy at Tufts University and have also coached competitive Public Forum debate for over 8 years, and beginner and intermediate chess for the last year.
I have an abundance of teaching experience across a variety of topics and academic levels. In high school debate, my students have ranked among the top 10 competitors in the country, and, among other achievements, have made it to the final round of the national Tournament of Champions in PF.
Outside of debate, I have taught college-level philosophy at Tufts University, and as a private tutor. In these roles, I helped students master crucial general-purpose skills such as writing, research, close reading, and critical and argumentative thinking.
I have also coached chess for the past year, mainly for beginner and intermediate level elementary aged students. I have an online rating of ~2030 (lichess rapid) and am comfortable working with students of all age ranges, including adults.
There's little I find more rewarding than teaching, and I take an active interest in my students' progress. I work best with intellectually curious students of all ages and can easily adapt lesson plans to different learning styles and schedules. I'm currently based in New York City and am happy to meet in person or online.
